Garlic Biscuit Knots

I love biscuits.  I know they are simple to make, the ingredients are just flour, some type of fat, a leavener and liquid but I just can’t master making biscuits!  Mine come out hard or heavy and just not tasty at all.  Alas, I have given into canned biscuits.  Yet, the flavor leaves much to be desired!  So what do I with these unwanted cans of dough?  Put on my thinking cap!

I was craving garlic knots on this cold dreary day but had zero desire to drive out to get them.  I could make some pizza dough but I didn’t want to wait, I wanted to eat some garlic knots NOW.  As I rummaged through the fridge, the biscuit dough sadly called out to me, why am I sitting here, unused?  I can be made into something tasty now!

My brain pondered the possibility of biscuits masquerading as garlic knots.  Could it be done?  Only one way to find out!

Off to the pantry to gather seasonings!

I decided to cut the circles in half and separate the biscuits into thirds by peeling them apart.  I had the “flaky” style dough so they separated quite nicely.

I tossed the pieces into my seasoning mix.  I covered both sides.

Then I rolled each piece into a log and tied them into a little knot.  I baked them according to the instructions on the package.  I had melted butter waiting to be brushed on them once they came out of the oven.

While they were hot and fresh, it did satisfy my craving for garlic knots. They were not OMG delicious but what can you expect from canned dough?!  So there you have my little garlic biscuit knots!
